Calculate your exact age in years, months, days, and hours from your date of birth.
How Your Exact Age Is Calculated
The calculator counts the full calendar difference between your date of birth and the comparison date, in years, months, and days — not a simple day-count division. It correctly handles varying month lengths and leap years, so someone born on 29 February still gets an accurate year count in non-leap years.
Why Total Days and Hours Are Useful
Alongside years/months/days, the calculator shows the total number of days, weeks, and hours you've been alive. These totals are useful for birthday milestones (turning 10,000 days old, for example) that don't line up neatly with a round number of years.
Calculating Age as of a Different Date
The "Age as of" field defaults to today but accepts any date, so you can calculate age at a past event (a wedding, a graduation) or a future one (retirement eligibility, a visa application deadline) by entering that date instead.
Does the calculator account for leap years?
Yes. The calculator counts the actual calendar difference between two dates, correctly handling leap years and varying month lengths rather than dividing total days by 365.
Can I calculate age as of a future or past date?
Yes — the "Age as of" field defaults to today but accepts any date, so you can calculate age at a past event or a future date such as a retirement or visa deadline.
