Businesses sending mass payouts — salaries, refunds, supplier payments — use M-PESA's Business-to-Customer (B2C) API, which is billed per transaction rather than as a single bulk fee. This calculator works out the per-recipient and total cost of a batch.

Business-to-Customer (B2C) Charges

Each payout is charged individually using the standard B2C fee band for the amount, whether the recipient is on M-PESA or Airtel Money. Choose the network to see the correct band applied.

Inclusive vs. Exclusive of Withdrawal Charges

Some businesses also cover the recipient's eventual cash withdrawal charge as part of the payout ("inclusive"), while others leave that cost to the recipient ("exclusive"). Toggling this option adds or removes the withdrawal band fee from the per-recipient total.
