How Road Freight Is Priced
Kenyan road transporters typically quote a rate per kilometre that scales with truck size — a 3-tonne pickup costs far less per km than a 30-tonne trailer, but a larger truck carries proportionally more cargo. Select the truck size closest to your load, enter the trip distance, and the calculator multiplies rate by distance for a base haulage cost.
Surcharges Add Up Fast
On top of the base cost, most transporters add a fuel surcharge (which moves with pump prices) and a flat loading/offloading fee for labour at each end of the trip. Both are pre-filled with typical percentages and amounts but are fully editable — replace them with figures from an actual quote for accuracy.
Why There's No Fixed Rate Card
